Current Position Available:

IT Analyst

Duties and Responsibilities: The IT Analyst will:

  • Contribute to a collegial, positive workplace culture.
  • Represent the company brand professionally and appropriately.
  • Share ideas and contribute skills to both individual and team projects.
  • Respond to customer questions and act as primary contact for customers requiring technical assistance.
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues and communicate with internal resources to resolve challenging issues.
  • Execute projects and troubleshoot unexpected issues.
  • Configure, deploy, troubleshoot and provide hardware and software support for typical hardware and applications used in small and medium businesses.
  • Enter accurate information in the ticketing software solution used by the company and follow up as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and members of the Surrogate team.
  • Work independently and, where necessary, draw on internal resources to seek input on questions, problems, or issue clarification.
  • Plan, prioritize and organize workload.
  • Travel independently to client locations.
  • Be flexible and willing to work some evenings and weekends.

Credentials and Additional Skills

  • MCSE and Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Computer Networking, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related technical field. However, experience counts. If you have equivalent experience, we want to hear from you.
  • Ability and interest in growing as an IT professional.
  • Experience performing moderately complex troubleshooting of networked devices (servers, workstations, firewalls, switches, mobile devices, printers).
  • Customer service experience and ability to resolve moderately complex technical issues, providing accurate analysis and suggesting appropriate solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Server and Desktop environments
    • Networking
    • Virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMWare)
    • Apple iOS and Android mobile operating systems
    • Local and online (cloud) backup applications
    • Typical end-user applications such as Office and Acrobat
  • Training/experience in the following would be considered an asset:
    • Apple MacOS
    • Microsoft Exchange
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • Remote Desktop Services
    • Office 365
